Let's learn from bollywood - The most influential movies
There was a friend of mine, having a good helping
nature who belonged to a low-class family. His mother was suffering from
paralysis and father worked hard to fulfil all the family needs. But
unfortunately his father had to stop working due to his health issues. So now
my friend was the only one left to earn for his family. One wrong thing about
him was that he had no control over his anger.
Time being he met a girl whom he started loving so
much that he could do anything for her. And in return that girl also liked him
and so they both got into a serious relationship. But as time passed that girl
started demanding things like to leave his parents after marriage. In all this
he started having habit of drinking. These made his behaviour even worse and
non-controllable anger. These affected him in his job and also got fired. Being
jobless and having no money to give to the family, he started getting more and
more depressed. And all these had came at its peak time during June 2013, just
a month after the release of Aashiqui 2. He told me once that my life is going
to end just like Rahul from Aashiqui 2. I tried to make him understand and I
thought that it might be a random thought which would have arouse due to
depression. But on 23rd June he committed suicide.
Yes, I might not be that close friend of him but he
shared things with me and even after knowing, I wasn’t able to save him and that's the mistake I am never going to forget.
Everyone liked Aashiqui 2 a lot. And the movie got
so famous that made the life of the new coming actors, Aaditya Roy Kapur and
Shraddha Kapoor in the film industry. But still we need to see the other side
of the coin that it created a massive effect on the minds of many people especially
the one’s who were facing depression. Also
there were news that the bridge from which Rahul committed suicide in the movie
got famous by suicide point as many suicides started taking place from that place
after the movie.
So was this movie a bad influence for people or was
it being interpreted wrongly??
Actually the movie has shown us negative side of
having addiction to alcohol which made the life of Rahul from heaven to hell
and made him give up thinking that he won’t be able to come out. But guys what
we need to understand is that there is solution to each and every problem in
your life. But what needed is to be patient and take proper time as rushing
towards conclusion always creates more problems than solving it. The friend of
mine might have come out from his bad phase but as he reckless and short
temper, he couldn’t wait and took a step which ultimately made his parents life
worst which no-one could have imagine.
Now exactly after 6 years such influential movie has
again been release named Kabir Singh, starring Shahid Kapoor as Kabir and Kiara
Advani as Preeti. Kabir was a brilliant, angry and abusive surgeon who loved
Preeti in his first sight.
Its Plot is a simple love story but there are many
things to point out for learning from this movie.
It is said that Anger is the most powerful emotion
which if controlled can make us something do the impossible work and when
uncontrolled can make you do which you might feel sorry for your entire life.
(To know more on anger, please read my blog related
to it- https://varunthakkar3.blogspot.com/2018/07/anger-negative-emotion.html )
And in this movie, Kabir was also facing same anger
management issues which always brought his male ego in between her love where
he only thought of his love and never cared for anyone else.
There’s a scene in the movie where Kabir comes to
Preeti’s home for the first time to talk to her father but they had to wait as
her father was not at home. They waited on the terrace where they started
kissing each other and her father saw that. Now he pushed Kabir out and told
never to come back to which Kabir goes away without doing anything. Next day he
again comes back to talk to her parents where he introduces himself and tells
about his love for Preeti. But her father was still not convinced by him and so
Kabir lost his anger and told things which shouldn't have been said by him, tried
to throw pot on Preeti’s sister, started talking about Preeti’s father in a
very disrespectful manner, tells Preeti that whatever she is today is just
because of him, slaps her finally giving her 6 hours to decide whom to choose-
her father or Kabir. And after that what he does- he goes home takes high dose
drug injection and gets unconscious for 2 days without even trying to wait for
6 hours which he gave to Preeti.
These 13 minutes scene clearly states that in spite
of love there are many things which are to be taken care with love. Kabir could
have handle things in a better way where Preeti’s father would have been
convinced by him but due to his short tempered nature, he lost Preeti and she
got married to someone else.
These could have been a learning phase for Kabir by
understanding the mistakes done by him but instead he got more reckless, more
abusive and more addictive towards alcohol, cigarettes and drugs which brought
him to a phase where he destroyed his career, almost went to jail, got pushed
out by his own father and was not able to love anyone else, even he never tried
to reach out to his family especially to his grandmother with whom he was the
closest till the day she died.
Even though this movie is an impractical one, still
what we need to understand from the movie is that there should never be any ego
between the persons who love each other and no-one should be dominating the
other one. Along with love comes the adjustment where both of them have to
adjust in one or the other ways with their families.
Love anyone being totally
faithful and never lose hope for them but don’t ever give up everything just
for that one person. If that person really loves you back, he/she won’t ever allow
you to give up things for them but instead will support you till the very last
date and will always respect you. Kabir Singh is a movie to understand for
being a faithful lover like Kabir singh who never loses hope but also makes us
understand that if you will give respect to others then only others will
respect you and there are many other things which are to be handled properly
other than love keeping aside your ego and never bringing your anger in
between.
Very nicely explained.
