In the previous “Borderline" article  (https://varunthakkar3.blogspot.com/2020/01/borderline.html?m=1)  we saw the effects of attachments which makes us cross the borderline where everything we read was related to mind, so it becomes important for us to understand what exactly mind is and how it works.
Mind is not a physical part of body but it’s actually a spiritual part of brain where each and every activity is noted down and signals are given to every cell in the body for performing its functions. Mainly mind contains of 3 parts which are
Conscious mind
Subconscious mind
Superconscious mind
Conscious mind and subconscious mind are like iceberg where the small portion floating above water which is the visible part is related to conscious part and the part which is not seen is related to the subconscious mind.
Conscious mind gathers the information from the surroundings and this information is stored in the subconscious mind. Now whenever we need to act upon something which is related to that information subconscious mind gives signal to the conscious mind to act upon that particular thing.

Talking about superconscious mind, it is the intuitive part of the mind which has the knowledge of things beyond these 5 senses which are visible. It’s the 6th sense that has answers to each and every question raised by that particular person. Here thinking is not based on any activity that is being done by us or something that we saw.
The thought process of any person works in the mode of “U" where our senses passes on the information to the conscious mind then the subconscious mind and ultimately to the superconscious mind. And then the answer to that information is being passed from the superconscious mind to the subconscious mind which filters the right and wrong doings and gives information to the conscious mind which makes us react accordingly.

But the problem that every humans face which makes them committing mistakes on regular basis is the borderline between each part of mind.
There is a very thick borderline between superconscious mind and subconscious mind so the information/thoughts doesn't properly travel between these two parts of mind. Also now due to constant increase of desires, the borderline between subconscious mind and conscious mind is getting thick in a way which makes difficult for thoughts to get filtered up about the right and wrong doings.

Overthinking is caused when the thought cannot travel to other part of mind and gets stuck which makes us to think over that topic on the repeated mode. At some point of time we all would have experienced that we are not able to sleep due to constantly thinking over something. That is known as the loop of thoughts been played inside the mind over one particular thing which doesn’t allow us to sleep.

These blockage of thoughts inside the mind that causes overthinking results into committing mistakes. We do such things which we never thought of and these mistakes include from small things like breaking any relationship or hurting ourselves to big things like beating someone or committing crimes like rapes and acid attacks.
These all things and mistakes take place due to the borderline that is not maintained properly by us and so it’s very necessary for any person to have knowledge of these borderline so that they won’t get into overthinking and make mistakes and for that a person should have control over his thoughts which requires lot of focus and concentration which can be achieved only and only by doing meditation.

Meditation helps in thinking deeply over one particular thing which makes us realize the pros and cons of that thought which are filtered by the subconscious mind which ultimately clears our mind to imply that particular thought in real life or to ignore it there and there only.

But still one question arises that what is meditation?
Meditation means to stop taking any information from the outside world for sometime and to focus only over one particular thing which adjusts the borderline between different parts of mind I.e. conscious mind with subconscious mind and subconscious mind with superconscious mind. These helps us in easily filtering out the pros and cons over some information and we can get the answer to act upon that information.
Let’s understand with a simple example

  • We all would have noticed sometimes that we get answer to some questions when we are in our sound sleep even though we were searching for that answer from days. Do you know why these happens? It’s because while having a sound sleep, our conscious mind stops taking any information from the outside world and all our focus gets over the information floating inside the mind. And so these borderlines inside the mind gets thin which ultimately results in giving us the answer we were searching for.


So meditation, which has become now old school and no one likes to adopt it, is actually a very important part for any person to act with committing minimum number of mistakes. And so to maintain proper borderline inside your mind, please make a habit of meditating every day for some minutes. It will definitely bring a great change in your daily routine and will help you understand things deeply.
