THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM

First of all, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all my Indian Friends.

On 15th August we got freedom from the rule of British Empire and we were now free to make our own constitution.
This is 2020 and having completed 72 years in our freedom still one question arises- Even after having everything, are we really having internal freedom or satisfaction????
So let’s talk about it and know what is the ultimate freedom that’s required.

Everyone’s natural desire is to be free from all the difficulties that are been faced by them. But just after birth, we are set into the rules for living a life either by our parents/guardians, our own selves or dharmas. According to parents, these rules are set to make their child suitable for their better future. According to children, they follow it to have a luxurious life. And according to dharmas, they do it to make our next life better than this.

Without even thinking of what’s ahead we just start flowing in the direction where others are flowing. We don’t even care to think what we like and what we don’t and get into the race of earning more and more money because we are trained to set our goal just in similar way without enjoying our work and then we also train our children to do similarly. Let’s take up some examples to understand it.
  • When we are about to complete our SSC i.e 10th Standard, everyone around us start asking questions,"Which stream are you going to take? Go for engineering or doctor and if you want to go in commerce do CA. And then after graduation fly to USA or Canada for PG and then settle there and earn in dollars.” And as our mind is also set from our childhood to make money we also start dreaming in similar way and end up following that flow without even thinking what we actually wanted to become.
  • There’s a famous dialogue from the movie 3 Idiots which suits the above example that,” By hitting the whip from circus-master, even lions get trained to do whatever circus master wants him to do. But that lion is called well-trained but not well-educated.”Meaning you will get trained to do whatever you are been allotted but will you be able to enjoy it or not that depends only on the interest that you have in it.
  • Most of the successful persons are also not happy in real sense but they still can’t reveal it as they are bound to think that people will start mocking them that even after having everything and so much money they are not happy but they don’t have freedom to show reality because of the fear of losing prestige.

So even after having everything, can we see freedom in the above examples?
Freedom is to be felt by an individual by exploring your happiness, caring/loving towards the others as well as your work, being tension free, to spend time with your own selves as well as your loved ones.

Many persons think that their freedom is taken away as they get married or by having children or by working under someone. But that’s not exactly true.
  • Getting married to the one who totally understands and loves you and your family will not take away your freedom but instead will add more happiness to your life which will ultimately lead you to Freedom.
  • Having children and guiding them on the right track as a parent and making them understand the real world gradually as they grow leads you to Freedom.
  • Working on things or having a job that you love to do and even if in that job there is someone superior over you, you will feel your Freedom.
  • Serving and taking care of your Parents/grandparents who made you what you are today leads to your freedom.

All the above examples of freedom and the things that I discussed is finally dependant on one ultimate Freedom and that is Your Own Thoughts.

It is our own thoughts in which the ultimate freedom is hidden. When our thoughts are free from the outside world, we can have total freedom in loving, caring, working, etc… But the actual problem that we all face is the thoughts that are dependent on others and so our mind thinks according to what’s happening in our surrounding. When we have a deep thought regarding this, we can realise that our each and every desire leads to some trap in our happiness even after achieving it. Sometimes this trap is visible but many times its so invisible that when we finally realise it, we already are in the state of loneliness.

The important factor itching our freedom is our Ruling Nature.
As we start achieving our dreams, we start having ‘Success ego’ and so instead of leading others we start ruling over them and try to grab a control over their freedom and a ruling mind can never have Freedom Of Peace.

This is the only reason that even after having 72 years of independence, we are not enjoying Freedom as Politicians want to rule over us instead of leading and thus they waste all their energy in fighting the opposition rather than using that energy in development of the country. Also these politicians are amongst us brought up by same kind of thinking and so even when one of us will become a politician(even though he has great ideas to bring change), he will do the same or even worse as the rest are doing as he also has same kind of ruling ideology. If you want any change, first change yourselves and stop flowing with others.

The best Example for a person who has achieved the ultimate freedom and also was successful in leading rather than ruling is Gandhiji. Even though being such a great lawyer, could have earned lots of money, still he decided to bring the change, bring the Freedom from the rule of British Empire by leading others & uniting them to kick Britishers out of the country and for that he even went to jail and walked miles and miles for bring unity among others. Think what could have happened if he just sat and saw by enjoying his earnings???

So friends, don’t ever set the goal to earn money or to have a luxurious life. Instead set a goal to have this ultimate freedom freeing yourselves from all the negative thoughts and follow what you like without hesitating and of course it will make your life luxurious.
