ANGER- A negative emotion???

What is Anger?

Anger is a cluster of negative emotions which includes your body (physical), mind (mental) and will (desire) which is having a tremendous amount of strength in it.
But is it really a negative emotion?? Or are we just taking it in a negative way?

Anger is neither negative nor a positive emotion. It totally depends on how we handle it. It can act as a creative force to bring some change as well as it can act as a destructive force to harm our own selves as well as our surroundings.

Just like any other emotions, Anger also needs a path, a path which is needed to be set by us.
As talked earlier, anger can be destructive (wrong) or can be creative (right). Let’s talk about them in detail
  •        Feelings of Disappointment, hurt, sadness, rejection,  embarrassment, pain etc leads to anger but this kind of anger provoked is in a wrong way.Yes whatever happened which led to sadness was not correct but still it doesn’t require any anger to be felt. Instead what actually required is self-realisation on how to react if similar situation again takes place in future & how to avoid the mistake that we did due to which we got disappointed or sad.

Getting angry in these kinds of situations will only make things worse for us as well as it can also happen that we start doing the exact things to others that happened with us making us the negative personality.
  •      Feelings of getting frustrated by seeing the wrong doings happening in the world can also lead to anger which is to be brought out in a right way. Examples- A traffic jam at the crossroads because of someone impatient getting across the moving traffic or listening to the incident of someone just leaving their family alone for money.

Here in the above example if we just bang upon them with full anger, things might get worse and even mess you up bringing any kind of relationship at stake.

It is basic nature of a human being to get angry at this kind of situations but what if we are able to control it? What if we can get a better way to kick that anger out?

Sometimes when we see all these wrong doings taking place around us we get frustrated, frustrated for not being able to do anything for it and as we get frustrated, we start harming our own selves as well as the ones which are close to us (mentally or physically). But instead what we should do is to bring out that anger into our work.
Anger is a very strong emotion and if it gets a perfect path, it will help you do any kind of impossible things including the change that you are willing to bring and required for the society.
Let’s talk about it by using an example
  • IPL 2018 Finals- CSK vs SRH. We all know that when we are not able to make any runs we feel pressurised and in that we either end giving up our wicket or do something unbelievable. Same thing happened in the finals. Shane Watson – First 10 balls 0 runs. But then he went for a century & also gained a victory for CSK. Getting Pressurised/Angry leads to harming our own selves but getting that anger into your work will make you do any damn thing.

There are some people who are not able to control their anger. This kind of case is usually seen in a teenager or a youngster.

The main or the basic reason for this is PARENTING. Yes, Parent's upbringing for their child, fight between the parents in front of their children, getting angry on their child for every little stubbornness the child shows, not getting involved in their children’s life, etc creates mental imbalance in a teenage child which ultimately leads to frustration and which comes out in the form of anger.
One basic thing required to do by the parents is to sit and talk and open up the stories which match up the child’s reason of anger. This will help to sync the parent and child’s mind which will help the children to open up more and the parent can easily confront them and make them feel relax.

We all talked about getting our anger some path or controlling our own anger. What if someone close to you is angry at you?
There are 6 easy steps that are needed in such kind of situations.
  •  ASK- Make them sit and ask them about their reason for anger.
  •  LISTEN- After sometime they will start talking for their reason of anger. Don’t interrupt. Just keep listening
  •  UNDERSTAND- Now as their story gets finished, start thinking of yourself to be in that situation and try to understand their part of story.
  •  EXPRESS- Express what you think in a proper way by compassion and also affirm the other person’s feel for the anger.
  •  SHARE- Now talk about your side of the story for clearing the misunderstanding that took place between both of you and also apologize if needed.
  • CONFESS- And if it wasn’t a misunderstanding but a mistake done by you, confess it & promise not to repeat it in the future.

Don’t take anger in a negative approach. Instead use its strength to do something impossible.
